On August 7th, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Tokushima University, held a career experience event for elementary and junior high school students entitled "Have fun experiencing dental treatment and take a peek inside animal's mouths!"
A total of 84 elementary and junior high school students and their parents attended the event. Participants had the opportunity to experience the work of a dentist and dental hygienist, as well as observe the teeth and mouths of animals and take part in lectures.
The children's eyes lit up as they enthusiastically participated in practical training using the university's specialized equipment, experiences they would not normally have.
The aim of this event was to foster interest in the medical field and help children choose their future career paths. We will continue to provide learning and hands-on opportunities for local children.

● The lecturer's talk was fascinating, and my child was very interested. It was a valuable experience to actually get to touch various things.
● I'm very glad we were able to participate this time. I also hope to have my child attend the Open Campus in the future.
● Compared to medical schools, it was harder to imagine what a dental school career would be like, so it was great to see the campus.
● I want my child to have a variety of career experiences, so this event was very helpful. My child was resistant to brushing his teeth and struggled with it every day, but I think this experience helped him become more interested in teeth.

● If he aims to become a dentist, I'm grateful that he will change the way he approaches his studies in order to attend Tokushima University.
